Secondary art market

Photogold gallery specialises in the secondary market , particularly Jack Vettriano, Beryl Cook and David Shepherd prints , and we regularly source sold-out copies for our many customers on a daily basis. Phone 07723-538941 or contact us online.
Fine art limited edition prints are published in editions of 100 to 950 Once the last copy of any particular issue is sold by the publisher that issue is then sold out.

Whilst an issue is sold out from the publisher, further copies often become available on what is known as the “secondary market”. Typically, these are copies that have been acquired by galleries and dealers anticipating a sell-out issue and the consequent increase in value as demand drives prices upwards. Secondary Market copies are therefore, usually, mint unsold copies and have rarely been pre-owned.

How much could a secondary market copy cost?

Typically, secondary market prices can initially be between 10 – 50% higher than the original published price and, in some cases, pieces that are very much in demand can double in price very quickly indeed.

As specialists in this secondary market, we have many contacts with dealers, private collectors and galleries both in the UK and internationally. We can source sold-out copies at the best possible price .

We can usually manage to find the piece you are looking for but, occasionally, where rarer issues are unavailable, we will take your details and contact you should a copy come on the market.

Dance exhibition at the National gallery of Scotland

Dance and the intriguing cultures around it have inspired artists since ancient times. As well as being a rich and meaningful subject for artists, dance also presents the interesting technical challenge of capturing the human form in movement.

This exhibition explores the theme of dance through key artworks from across the National Collection. It juxtaposes works of art made in very different periods, styles and media, ranging from two beautiful nineteenth-century studies of classical ballet dancers by Edgar Degas, to an exuberant late-1950s linocut by Pablo Picasso.

The most recent works, two photographs by Diane Arbus from the ARTIST ROOMS collection jointly owned by the National Galleries of Scotland and Tate, successfully capture the sense of mystery and fascination associated with the dance profession.

Dance also unites dynamic studies of high-kicking dancers by Arthur Melville from the National Gallery of Scotland and Walter Sickert from the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

Artoffers.co.uk publishes news about art exhibitions in the UK and abroad . Currently Jack vettriano has an exhibition in Kirkcaldy in Fife until 2nd May. Days of Wine and Roses has attracted over 3400 people in the first two days – breaking all records. Vettriano chose his home town of Kirkcaldy over London and Milan to open his first exhibition in four years. Dallas Mechan, service development manager for heritage and art, said: “The first weekend was amazing.
“We had just under 1700 people on Saturday, 1750 on Sunday, and about 800 on Monday. The most we have had in one day in the past was 1000.

“A lot of people are coming from all over the country, it has been fantastic.”
The exhibition boasts 35 original paintings, as well as photographs by Milanese photographer Fredi Marcarini and runs until until May 2.Home - nucleuscms.org
Welcome to the world of Nucleus CMS.
